Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
For the Beef Patties
- 1½ lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, but very American-style)
For the Grilled Cheese Layers
- 12 slices white sandwich bread (Texas toast works best)
- 12 slices American cheese (or cheddar / Colby Jack)
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
Optional Add-Ons
- Caramelized onions
- Crispy bacon
- Pickles
For Serving
- BBQ sauce or burger sauce
- Fries or coleslaw on the side
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Beef Patties
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Divide into 6 thin patties (slightly larger than bread slices).
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Set aside and keep warm.
2️⃣ Make the Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place 6 slices butter-side down on a hot skillet.
- Add 2 slices of cheese to each.
- Top with remaining bread slices (butter-side up).
- Grill until golden brown and melty, flipping once.
- You’ll have 6 grilled cheese sandwiches.
3️⃣ Assemble the Burger Stack
- Place one grilled cheese sandwich on a board.
- Add a beef patty.
- Add another grilled cheese sandwich.
- Add another beef patty.
- Finish with a final grilled cheese sandwich on top.
👉 That’s a triple grilled-cheese, double-beef stack, just like the image.
Serving Tips
